Hopefully, it can meet or even surpass what people are expecting. So while that means the show has a built-in fanbase before it even airs, it also means it has plenty of expectations to meet. Even without sales numbers, just scroll through bookstagram for five minutes and you’ll likely see one of the books in plenty of posts.
In March 2022, the books had sold over 1 million copies. To say these books have been popular over the past couple of years would be an understatement. The series is based on the graphic novels of the same name by Alice Oseman.
